When it was released in 1982, AutoCAD was specifically targeted at architects and engineers. It was capable of producing a great variety of three-dimensional drawings and models of various types, including the drawings of architectural and structural elements, as well as technical engineering drawings. Unlike other similar desktop CAD tools such as DrawCAD and EasyCAD, AutoCAD was not a vector graphics tool, but instead used a 2D raster graphics method. The version 1.0 release was limited to creating 2D drawings, however. In 1983, Autodesk released a version for Macintosh computers, and released the next version, AutoCAD 200, in November 1983.
In 1984, Autodesk released AutoCAD for the IBM personal computer. The new release was capable of 2D and 3D drafting and was capable of using 3D models created with the Autodesk 3D modeling software. In 1985, Autodesk released AutoCAD for the Apple Macintosh. The next version was released in 1986, with improved 3D capabilities.
With the release of AutoCAD 1987, the program was completely redesigned and redeveloped. It now used the very first version of the software engine, now known as the ADBE engine. It was also the first version of the program to support raster images on the computer’s primary display. At the same time, the AutoCAD Design Center was introduced as a browser-based tool for designers to create and share their design ideas. The Design Center was popular enough that Autodesk decided to build a web-based version in 1994. Finally, AutoCAD introduced the ability to import DWG files from a variety of third-party CAD programs into the program and retain their styles.
At the same time, Autodesk released AutoCAD Architecture, a program for creating architectural drawings and models. In 1990, the first version of AutoCAD LT was released, aimed at architects and engineers who did not need the full-fledged version of AutoCAD.
AutoCAD 2000 was released in 1994. It included some significant changes to the user interface, and introduced a new 2D drafting engine, which did not require raster images. This also allowed the addition of multiple windowing options. One of the notable new features was the ability to import DWG files directly into AutoCAD from an AutoCAD 2000 drawing, which was not possible with earlier releases. AutoCAD 2000 also supported the latest version of the ADBE,
AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Electrical and AutoCAD Civil 3D are also available for the iPad and iPhone.

This seems to be a good starter guide to using the Autodesk Key Generator (AKG). The article is for the Professional licence but is fairly self-explanatory.
For Architectural, Mechanical and Civilian solutions, the following steps are relevant:
Make sure you have your username (eg. “Llamas”), password (eg. “ESMI”), and your Autocad id (eg. “ahc355”) on hand
Open your web browser to “”
Enter your username (eg. “Llamas”) and password (eg. “ESMI”)
Click the “Login” button
Check the box “Generate”
Click the “Submit” button
Follow the instructions that appear
The website will then provide you with a Key Generator.
A:
Start Autocad
On Autocad go to menu: Edit | Options | Generate
Select: View from CD Keys (this option is present in version 14.3)
Enter the licence key. This is the Key Value you get from your CD-Key:

CD Key Generator – Version 2014
The CD Key Generator for AutoCAD 2014, should be the preferred method of generating the CD Key used to open an account with the Autodesk Authorized Professional Programme. The CD Key Generator will enable us to generate and export all the CD Keys necessary for an Autodesk Authorized Professional Programme account.

I had this problem as well. I searched the internet high and low trying to find a solution but was unable to find any.
What finally worked for me was the right click menu and going to the Generate option.
After clicking that the CD Key Generator will open and then input
In AutoCAD 2023, you can import PowerPoint slides and edit your AutoCAD drawings directly from PowerPoint. Create your own presentations, export as PDFs, import into AutoCAD, and even add shapes to your presentation and have them transfer to your AutoCAD drawing (video: 1:10 min.)
You can transfer AutoCAD drawings to PowerPoint. For example, you can incorporate your AutoCAD drawings as a background or presentation on a PowerPoint slide (video: 1:22 min.)
In AutoCAD 2023, you can create a presentation from a blueprint. Simply select the area that contains your blueprint content, and then use the new Quick Sketch tool to make a copy of it in a new presentation. AutoCAD creates the shape of the selection as well as a drawing representing it.
In AutoCAD 2023, you can import shapes from other applications and edit them with dynamic components. If you have an application that lets you make a design from several components—such as DesignSpark or Adobe XD—you can import it into your drawing as a regular component. As you update the component, the changes update in your drawing. You can even have each component update separately to reflect its own changes. (video: 1:10 min.)
You can edit the interior or exterior of your building model. Any surface can be edited, including walls, doors, and roofs. Create an elevation or face in your drawing, edit the profile, and view the changes in real time. (video: 1:34 min.)
Editing
You can edit the inside and outside of your objects, and easily transfer your edits to other drawings. With the new Edit Path tool, you can connect points, segments, and linear curves. These can be curved or straight, and they can be filled with color. You can even create new vertices and segments dynamically. (video: 1:38 min.)
You can edit and edit a dynamic component. You can edit the shape of a component, and edit it directly on your drawing. This includes dynamically adding and removing geometry, and it lets you use any kind of shape you want. (video: 1:27 min.)
