AutoCAD includes a host of features, including 2D and 3D drafting, architectural design, mechanical and electrical design, infrastructure design, Web publishing, and technical documentation. The ability to design complex projects is key to many businesses. Before the rise of CAD, only the large, vertically integrated corporations could afford specialized personnel with the skills to design in-depth (high-end) architectural projects. CAD eliminated this need, allowing anyone to design or produce professional-quality drawings for their own company.
AutoCAD Architecture has been used as the basis for at least two official United States Marine Corps manuals.
History
Autodesk acquired AutoCAD from Mayfield Graphics, the company that developed it, in 1992. In 1994, Autodesk introduced AutoCAD for the Web as an Internet-based, client-server system, where users could use a browser and access a wide variety of features, including those of the desktop AutoCAD application. By 1999, the company had produced version 6 of the software, which was based on the high-performance, scalable, multi-processor operating system, AIX.
In the late 1990s, Autodesk produced a new version of AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, with the goal of creating a cost-effective, entry-level drafting program for the fledgling CAD industry.
In 2001, the company announced AutoCAD 2000 Architectural for Window 2000. In 2002, the company announced AutoCAD R14, followed by AutoCAD WS2002, which was included in Windows Server 2003. AutoCAD WS2002 marked the first time AutoCAD had been used for Windows Server web services.
AutoCAD 2007 was an incremental update to previous versions. The new software was set to increase its support of the AutoLISP programming language, which enabled the user to customize features and operations. AutoCAD 2009 was the first product developed with AutoLISP in mind. With AutoCAD 2009, AutoCAD users can now navigate through the application and interact with objects more easily and quickly.
In 2010, AutoCAD 2010 was released, which included support for 2D, 3D, and AutoCAD Plant.
In 2011, AutoCAD 2011 was released. AutoCAD 2011 is the first version of AutoCAD since 2007 to support the Gantt Chart and Cloud Composer. In 2012, AutoCAD 2012 was released, and has been
R10 introduced the Open Design Alliance (ODA), a pre-competitive, industry-wide initiative to develop interoperability standards and tools to facilitate more intelligent collaboration on the design, engineering, and fabrication of advanced products. It now has more than 60 members, including top tier companies such as Ford, GE, Boeing, and John Deere. The ODA’s mission is to develop a unified, open standard for information exchange in a collaborative design environment. The ODA architecture, a formalized, Open Architecture Framework, enables complete design and engineering collaboration between multiple teams. The ODA Open Architecture Framework is designed to address what it claims are key challenges of contemporary, complex product development: the time and cost it takes to deliver product and engineering solutions, and the inability of the engineering and manufacturing organizations to share information seamlessly. The ODA Architecture has two key components: a communication infrastructure that supports the exchange of information through a common data model and an interoperable application platform that enables the exchange of information by using this data model.
The new R2016 release supports the ability to draw on 3D models from other applications such as Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Fusion 360.
AutoCAD Serial Key 2016 also includes the ability to use toolbars in the Customize dialog box, which allows customizing toolbars and their placement within the program window. AutoCAD 2016 also supports the.NET Framework 4.5, allowing programmers to create custom applications.
AutoCAD 2016 introduced the Natural Constraint feature, which aids in the creation of multilevel, multidimensional drawings.
AutoCAD’s editor of user preference files (e.g., wallpaper, toolbars, etc.) was converted to an XML file. This allows configuration changes to be stored and loaded at a later date.
AutoCAD supports six different languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
AutoCAD now supports PDFs natively.
AutoCAD’s architectural users have more visual tools, including orthogonal and parametric views, that improve the readability of multi-level drawings.
Technical support options for AutoCAD include Web-based, phone support, self-service help, e-mail, and a range of forums.

Finance
AutoCAD’s new Finance module allows the user to create bar graphs for budgets and graphs for a variety of financial statements.

Q:
What does ‘gimme’ mean in “gimme more of that”?
I understand the meaning of’more of’ in this example sentence:
He doesn’t want any more of this now.
But what does ‘gimme’ mean in this context?
A:
In addition to the other answers, there is an origin to this expression.
On its own, “give me” means to ‘demand’ something:
Give me my coat!
But the expression has a different, and, in my opinion, better meaning when used in the context of something mentioned earlier in a sentence:
Give me the milk!
Give me my sword!
Give me a high five!
In all of these cases, the meaning is ‘give me some of whatever you have mentioned previously’.
The meaning in your example is:
Give me more of that.
This can be used in a number of different ways depending on the context, but is essentially a rude demand for more.

Export and Import:
Use “.cdr” files to import markup or drawings that you create in other programs. The “.cdr” file format allows drawings to be shared and maintained in one file. (video: 1:44 min.)
Introduced in AutoCAD 19.2, the INSPECT command helps you inspect symbols and controls on a block diagram. This improves productivity by helping you quickly identify issues that you might otherwise overlook.
AutoCAD’s Dynamic Tools preview now automatically shows tools. And with this new feature, you can see tools and enable or disable them, without creating a new drawing.
Imported or linked CAD files are now always opened in the active drawing. Previously, the CAD files you opened were only opened if the current drawing was not open.
When you insert a new drawing, you can now choose an existing drawing in the cloud as the default destination. Previously, you had to click on the Create New Drawing button to navigate to the cloud.
When you insert a file, you now have the option to create the file in a new location or overwrite the existing file. Previously, the file was always saved to the same location as the drawing.
Raster Graphics import:
Raster graphics (“.jpg” files) can now be imported into AutoCAD drawings. (video: 1:10 min.)
Text import:
Text can now be imported from Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. You can use text-editing functions like word count, sentences, and paragraphs. (video: 1:21 min.)
Create Common Table Expressions (CTE):
The Create Common Table Expressions (CTE) command lets you write out more complex mathematical calculations in a way that is easier to understand. It is especially useful for representing modeling data or creating complex data transformations. (video: 1:07 min.)
New version of Virtual World:
The Virtual World app for AutoCAD is a new app for mobile apps that lets you view and annotate CAD drawings in the cloud. It allows you to:
Create and share annotated drawings on your mobile device.
Use zoom-in/zoom-out controls to see an entire CAD drawing.
Share annotated drawings to the cloud for access by others.
Save annotated drawings as images.
Zoom in and out of CAD drawings that are
