Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

What is AutoCAD?
Autodesk’s AutoCAD, formerly AutoCAD 2000, is the world’s most popular commercial CAD software. The software is used to create 2D drawing designs, including architecture, electrical, industrial, mechanical, and architectural drawings. In a number of industries, CAD design software is the preferred method for creating 2D drawings.
The AutoCAD app provides all the features of AutoCAD for Windows, AutoCAD for OS X, AutoCAD LT for Windows, AutoCAD LT for OS X, and AutoCAD Architecture for Windows and OS X.
AutoCAD is also the name of a sheet metal design application and also is the name of a series of construction equipment used for drilling and pounding holes and for cutting steel. AutoCAD, and AutoCAD LT, are the only titles published under the Autodesk brand. AutoCAD LT is a term often used for AutoCAD for Mac, which is not an official product name.
AutoCAD was introduced in 1981, and was originally offered in two editions: AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT. AutoCAD LT was later discontinued, and AutoCAD 2004 was the first edition to offer both AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT. In 1997, the capabilities of AutoCAD LT were integrated into AutoCAD, and AutoCAD LT was re-released as AutoCAD 2004. In 2003, Autodesk introduced AutoCAD 2005. This was the first release of AutoCAD to include both AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT. Autodesk also offered a version of AutoCAD called AutoCAD Design, intended for architectural design.
The latest version of AutoCAD is 2017.
As a desktop and mobile application, AutoCAD is designed for use at a keyboard. A number of keyboard shortcuts are available that speed up the task of working with the app.
Both 2D and 3D modeling are possible using AutoCAD. The most common use for AutoCAD is 2D drafting, although 3D drafting and 3D modeling are also possible with AutoCAD.
AutoCAD 2014 and 2015 feature enhanced 2D drawing capabilities, which allow for the importing and exporting of DXF (Delineation eXchange
A person skilled in architecture will find many new ways of manipulating the model using the drawing tools. Adobe Photoshop is one such application used to view CAD data. Many CAD systems have plug-ins for common drawing operations.
For architecture, Autodesk has released AutoCAD Architecture, a 3D modeling application that allows creating 3D models of buildings. CAD data can be created with AutoCAD Architecture and sent to ArchiCAD to convert to ArchiCAD. ArchiCAD 2.4 can import an AutoCAD drawing exported from AutoCAD Architecture.
Civil 3D was released in 2006. It is a 3D cad drafting application that allows creation of building plans and sections, and it is often used in conjunction with a specialized surveying program such as Trimble’s 3D Builder. Civil 3D was one of the original AutoCAD add-ons.
Autocad Architecture and Autocad Electrical
AutoCAD Architecture is the new version of Autocad Architecture. This program is developed by autodesk. A person skilled in architecture will find many new ways of manipulating the model using the drawing tools. Adobe Photoshop is one such application used to view CAD data. Many CAD systems have plug-ins for common drawing operations.
DWG Viewer is a popular viewer for Autodesk’s DWG and DWF format drawing files, developed by Autodesk. This was the predecessor of DWG Viewer and DWG Viewer 2. It is a stand-alone CAD application that may be installed as a part of AutoCAD. It is freeware.
DWG Viewer was discontinued in the mid-2000s. The next version of DWG Viewer was DWG Viewer 2, which was discontinued in 2011.

Seal of the District of Columbia
The seal of the District of Columbia is the official seal used to represent the District of Columbia in the United States. It was designed in 1899 by Washington, D.C. artist James Earle Fraser and is based on the official seal of the United States.
The seal features the Potomac River with the Washington Monument in the center and the United States Capitol in the background. At the center is a shield featuring the District of Columbia motto “In God We Trust.” A light blue panel with the words “United States of America” below, and a panel with a framed map of the District of Columbia in the lower right corner of the shield.
The seal was adopted on June 7, 1899 and was based on the official seal of the United States. The design was prepared by James Earle Fraser, a Washington, D.C. based artist who was commissioned in November 1898 to design the seal. On January 20, 1899, the seal was delivered to the United States Congress, which adopted the seal on February 12, 1899. The seal was printed on the law books as soon as it was enacted.
Because of the distance between the District and the other federal territories, a different motto, “Unite we stand” was chosen. The motto “In God We Trust” was included to recognize the support for the Roman Catholic Church in the United States by the ruling class, as opposed to the original motto “E Pluribus Unum” which was meant to signify a nation that was united by a common law and language. The light blue color of the District’s shield was also chosen to complement the red and blue of the United States.
