– About the Place:
Kuromiya Shrine: End of the day shrine in the town of Kuronos where the Golden Micchidai, the object that holds the secret to the end of days, has been hidden since ancient times.
The guardian of the shrine is Tenka Kurono, the privileged son of the Kurono family. He is the runemaster of this shrine and an extremely energetic young man! His other sister, Mutsuki, is a high-ranking Archmaiden, and runs the business of the shrine. A beautiful Senpai, Rinna, is serving as the model for the shrine’s decorations and manual labour during the day.
A team that secretly protects the Shrine from the outside world is made up of a young girl, Yuki, who has arrived in Kuronos, an orphan who has lost all hope in the world, and Rinna’s friend, an “ergan” who is never seen in public.

    Older Americans’ access to mobile phones is increasing and participation in social media and other online activities is expanding rapidly; yet, a significant gap in access to social media continues to exist between older adults and younger generations. Children and young adults are more likely to have social media accounts than any other group in the United States, yet in each year since 2012, fewer than a quarter of older Americans have an online profile.[1] This new book reviews the past and trends in sociology and gerontology about online social networks and social media in the lives of older adults.

    From the Review: Introducing the book is an interview with the publishers in which the authors describe the purpose of the book. They explain that “how people use and access online social networks and online social media holds important implications for the societies that we live in and thus is a topic that is of broad sociological, political, social philosophical, and economic significance.” They then introduce four main trends in the sociology and gerontology literature on social networking and social media: 1) the rise of online social networking; 2) the rise of research on online social networking; 3) the consequences of online social networking; and 4) the consequences of the global recession on online social networking.

    The book then begins with a review of the research on the first of those four trends. The authors describe the advancement of behavioral science and the role that social networking and social media have in increasing innovation and the level of expression in the U.S. “As a result of the growth of these technologies, there have also been social, cultural, and political consequences with regard to our interpersonal relationships, our economic well-being, and our levels of engagement in our civic life.” During the period of time covered by the book, the number of social networking users more than doubled.
