Photoshop is the industry-standard computer graphic image-editing software, but it does have some limitations. To maintain the quality of your images, it may not be the most appropriate tool if you need to perform very complex image manipulations or would like to transfer your images to different output devices. We suggest that you use Photoshop for some things and the other graphic design tools available (see Figure 10-4).
**Figure 10-4:** Be careful using Photoshop alone if you’re concerned about image quality.

The influence of poverty and stress on hospitalization outcomes.
Poor health is one of the most consistent correlates of heightened healthcare utilization. This study examines the effects of poverty and stress on hospitalization outcomes including functional status, mortality, and length of stay in adult acute care hospitals in the United States. We analyzed data from the 2003 Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project on the frequency of 30-day hospital stays among adults by poverty status and by stress level. We used logistic regression models for mortality and multiple linear regression models for length of stay to examine the relationship between poverty and stress and mortality, respectively. We used logistic regression for functional status, counting as ‘good’ a score ≥75 on the 30-day Katz ADL Scale. Poor income status, concentration of poverty, and high stress were all related to a higher probability of mortality, longer length of stay, and lower functional status. In multivariate models controlling for potential confounders including age, race, and comorbidities, the concentration of poverty and stress level were associated with mortality, functional status, and length of stay. The concentration of poverty was associated with an increased probability of mortality and length of stay; the high stress level was associated with a lower functional status and an increased length of stay. Our study results underscore the importance of addressing not only health insurance coverage but also the social determinants of health in reducing hospitalization burden in low-income populations.The Adelaide Rapids have announced the signing of Victorian Gaelic footballer Sean Spillane.
Spillane is the nephew of Sydney Swans football club legend Jarrad McVeigh who has been based in the state of Victoria as well as being a defender for the Gaelic Athletic Association in the Victorian Gaelic Football League.
He is also a dual AFL and Gaelic footballer with AFL club Geelong Falcons before graduating to the Geelong Football Club at the age of 17.
Spillane will be presented to the Adelaide Rapids on Thursday 20 February 2018 at 9am.

Adelaide Rapids Chairman Brendan Weijers said that Spillane was a player who fit the Rapids vision of developing a Gaelic football program and his arrival meant the Rapids had given themselves the best chance of making a successful transition in the AFL.
“Sean’s experience will be invaluable to the Adelaide Rapids in our early attempts to transition to the A-grade competition. He is a proven Gaelic footballer at the highest level and will be a great boost to our
Q:
Is it possible to have a for loop nested in a switch statement?
Say I have multiple cases for a switch statement, and that I want the for loop to run if a particular case is satisfied:
case1:
for (something) {}
case2:
for (something else) {}
case3:
for (my last something) {}
Is it possible to do this in one shot, maybe using something like case1||2||3?
A:
You can use the || operator, but the for loop must run in the same execution block:
case1:
//run for loop
break;
case2:
//run for loop
break;
case3:
//run for loop
break;
If you want to be able to nest the code within the same switch statement, you would have to use an ugly workaround by using a boolean flag to detect if the loop is done.
Update: now after you cleared up some of the specifications it’s a bit clearer what’s wanted. In that case (and assuming there are no other cases) the following is a possible workaround:
boolean done = false;
switch (parameter) {
case1:
while (!done) {
//code
}
break;
case2:
while (!done) {
//code
}
break;
case3:
while (!done) {
//code
}
break;
//other cases
}
Please note that this is not thread-safe as far as the done variable is concerned. If that’s a problem in the use-case it might have to be refined further.
