What Is Lightroom?
Lightroom is the photo management program built by Adobe to be a robust alternative to Photoshop. While Photoshop works with raster images, Lightroom is a powerful tool for working with digital images of all types.
I’ve used both programs extensively for years and currently use Lightroom because it has become the go-to program for editing photos and then sharing those images through the Internet. Lightroom is the first program I show beginners to so that they can be comfortable using the program. Lightroom is also an excellent tool for both general editing and for adjusting color and exposure settings, even for advanced users.
Photoshop and PS Elements have the same effects and filters. However, you can use Photoshop elements, but not Photoshop, on non-Mac computers.
Why should I Use Photoshop Elements?
If you are an amateur photographer, Photoshop Elements is a good choice because it is easy to use and offers the same features as professional software, but costs less.
If you are an expert in graphic design, Photoshop Elements helps you save time as it provides most of the tools you use. You can also save money by using Photoshop Elements for designing graphics for blogs or social media.
How to Use Photoshop Elements
1. Open the image you want to edit.
Make sure the file type of the image is.PSD (digital camera RAW) or.JPG (jpeg)
(digital camera RAW) or (jpeg) In the menu bar, click Edit, then Open. Choose one of the following options: Load file(s), Browse for files and then Open or Open file
, and then Open or Open file Open an existing Photoshop document. Click File, then Open. Select a file from the list of options, or navigate to a folder where your images are located using the File browser panel.
2. Choose and modify the photo settings.
Note: Settings are very different from ‘normal’ Photoshop.
You can’t change the size of the photo, or create a new photo by resizing or cropping the image.
In the picture area, you can make small adjustments and change settings to suit your photo, such as:
Adjust the exposure and brightness.
and brightness. Use the color correction tools (white balance and color), or add a new color.
Use the media controls or the healing brush to remove imperfections from the photo.
3. Turn on Layers.
To create a new layer and use the software’s color effects, first choose the tool you need from the toolbox, then press it.
4. Add a layer.
Each time you add a new layer, you have to rename it (if you don’t, you can add it to the photo’s parent layer) and change the color.
Rename the layer to a name you can remember. The name must start with an alpha (A), and can be up to 12 characters long.
5. Apply an effect
History – Chapter 05 of the History of the LB&SCR
Once again the southbound express leaves Brighton in a flurry of dust and steam, with both speed and crowds seemingly encouraging it on its way, and so too does the coast liner, impatient for its own companionship. Meantime the LB&SCR itself is ambling into Eastbourne station, where the conductor, still on the cab roof, hauls down the whistle with a ‘Clack, clack!’ as if testing it. This sound is repeated again and again by his mates outside, by the vanmen and the station officials, until, for all the world as if in a scene from a railway melodrama, the station is plunged in a rapturous commotion, the steam whistle giving out long and sonorous blasts, the ringing of the telegraph bells becoming more and more urgent, the doors wide open, the station master and the guard alike rushing in and out with handfulls of telegrams and telegram envelopes, newspaper reporters trailing their notebooks along, and the while, the passengers are standing on their feet by the coaches; a throng of housemaids and postmen crowding along the platform, and constables picking their way with difficulty through the press and pin the guard, the conductor, and the driver to the spot; while thousands upon thousands of letters are being written, and the time for Brighton is thronged by thousands of train travellers who, not knowing whether they are to meet a friend or a foe, are anxious for early news to tell them the best, or at least the most profitable way of getting to the south.
South Shore Line is made up of four trains – N,NE,S,SE, from Brighton to Eastbourne – and together they carry over 70,000 people in one direction and nearly 30,000 in the other. The leaders of the LB&SCR are the mail trains, which meet the morning and evening departures of the coast trains at Eastbourne. The first passenger trains of the day are the express coaches of the two London and South Coast companies, the passenger trains of the Great Western and the LSWR, leaving at 7.10 a.m. and 9.10 a.m. respectively; these services carry about 15,000 people, and as they need to be coupled it takes about half an hour to do the job. The coast line has a light service, a few trains in each direction, for between 6,000 and 8
Jython Google App Engine Community (
We are looking for both experienced, and inexperienced Java / Python developers to help us build the community around our Google App Engine implementation of the Jython language.
Jython features an object-oriented, dynamic programming language implementation that compiles to standard Java bytecodes. Python Scripting is built into App Engine, but Python is not. Jython provides the same performance as Java, but is optimized for execution on a JVM.
We are a small team, and this is a great time to join the cause and contribute back to an open-source project that can be one day as big or bigger than a full-fledged Python. Jython has lots of room for improvement, and we are looking for help from both experienced and new developers who want to improve the Jython language, Jython project, and community.

We are looking to hire people in the following areas, but we’re open to all ideas and everyone.
Functional Programmers (who like to build stuff)
PostgreSQL Users (we use an in-house solution, but you would not have to use it if you’d like)

Our goal is to provide state of the art laboratory analysis for the greater Fox Chase Cancer Center and the greater Philadelphia region, to create a centralized mechanism to process human specimens in compliance with the new Institutional Review Board regulations, and to be a significant resource for the support and development of clinical studies at the University of Pennsylvania.Sheffield, Yorkshire
