For this June’s edition of the Gamescom trailer rundown, I will be looking at a game that just so happens to be a massive hit on the PlayStation 4, that is, Nioh. In the most recent Nintendo Direct, Nioh was announced as one of the games that will be playable on the upcoming Nintendo Switch system. Naturally, I was intrigued by the prospect of seeing a western developer bring a Japanese hack and slash to the Nintendo system.

So when the Nintendo Switch edition was announced, I couldn’t wait to see if it lived up to the hype. It certainly did.

As you can see, Nioh looks to be a great port. They’ve already mentioned that they’ve rebuilt the entire game engine from the ground up, which was good to hear. They’ve also stated that the game was already known for its proficiency on the PlayStation 4, so I’m surprised they felt the need to rebuild the game engine.

Looking at the Switch version, however, the Switch is clearly taking full advantage of the new engine by allowing players to have the Nioh experience on the go in the form of portable games. This is one of the aspects of the Switch that I love the most. Let me explain.

        Chrome 52 offline files bug

        I’m facing a weird issue on Chrome versions 52-53.
        The bug is explained in this comment by Google Community Partner Extensions Team.
        I upgraded my Chrome (to version 52.0.2743.116) and now when I open a file with Chrome’s “open with…” option, I have the following bug :

        When I switch to another tab, the file is opened with the correct program (Preview) and the only thing I can do is to close the tab : nothing else.
        I also had this issue when I opened a file with OpenFile.
        I didn’t find a relevant error on the console or on Internet Explorer with the same behavior.
        Here’s my chrome version (v52) :
        Version 52.0.2743.116 (Official Build) (64-bit)

        Does any one have a solution to fix this bug?

        As you might know, Google decided to only allow one instance of chrome.exe per user (See this answer). So openFile from the Stetho module is a function of that exact instance, which no longer exists.
        We’d love for it to work, so we can retain the function for users of Google Chrome, but it’s no longer possible.
        Update 1:
        There’s an issue logged with Stetho that suggests it may be possible to use the browser.download package to download files. Is that a work-around you’re looking for?

        Thermophilic and phototrophic cyanobacteria of the genera Synechococcus, Calothrix and Prosthecochloris have been shown to be abundant members of the microbial community in the oxygen minimum zone (OMZ) of the North Sea.
