The Battle of Endor, fought between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire, saw the Rebel Alliance engaged in one of their largest confrontations of the Clone Wars. It took place during the period between the Battle of Geonosis and the Battle of Alderaan in Episode IV : A New Hope, as the Empire hunted down Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker.
The battle pitted a combined Rebel Alliance and New Republic command led by Grand Admiral Thrawn against the Galactic Empire. Despite initial victories for the Empire, the battle turned in the Rebels’ favor, ending with the Death Star destroyed in a gigantic explosion, causing heavy damage to the space station.
The Rebel victory strengthened their position and gave them the confidence to continue the struggle. During the Rebellion’s subsequent pursuit of the Death Star, the Empire destroyed the second Death Star and destroyed the second Death Star’s obliterator droid squadron.
But the battle did not end here, as the Alliance and Republic’s morale was rocked when Luke’s nephew, Ben Solo, was revealed to be the Emperor’s secret son. Though Ben Solo was ultimately captured and sentenced to death for his crimes, Luke Skywalker murdered Darth Vader, the Emperor’s most trusted assistant and heir, to prevent Vader from murdering Ben Solo.
Ben’s son, Kylo Ren, was also suspected of being responsible for the attack, though he was ultimately believed to be a Sith apprentice before he supposedly killed his master.
“The battle between the Rebellion and the Empire has ended. But the fight goes on. With the Emperor defeated, we need to find Luke Skywalker, his friends, and bring them home. If we do that, then the rebellion can still be won! We need your help. You must help me bring down the Senate and the Emperor, defeat the First Order, and restore peace to the galaxy once and for all!”

The Battle of Endor occurred shortly after the Battle of Geonosis between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. On the planet Endor, the Empire attacked a defenseless base of the Rebels.
After the attack was repelled, General Kenobi, now with the title of Jedi Master, returned to the Rebel base and gathered his army. However, they were unable to defend the base from a larger and better equipped military.
The first part of the battle ended when Imperial forces conquered the base, killing most of the Rebels
